Summer is overrrr.

As usual, I feel as though I've wasted it. I've been having difficulty determining how to fic properly (it feels as though I want to write epic epicness but they take too long so it feels like nothing gets finished), so I've been hanging out at the anonymemes, I think some of the prompts are quite good and when I recognise one from an old one it makes me sad that it hasn't been written yet D; Ryo = House, people! It feels like there's been three memes and I keep losing the links so I'm googling really ambiguous things in speech marks trying to find the prompts I wanted to write.

NEWS fandom's been real quiet. I know this is the space where NWPD DVD was supposed to be but on the other hand, it's been 10 months since color so maybe there's an album in the works? Maybe? November-time?

To fill up my need to fangirl, I've turned to Supernatural and Merlin, and I'm gonna dip my toe in Glee. SPN fandom can get a little scary sometimes but the crazy/wank seems to be located in certain places so I just stay away, everything else is just wonderful with epic gif spams of pretty boys making funny faces. Merlin fandom is awesome, really, everyone is just so happy with love for everyone and they have such organised events like this and this and this. It'd be nice if there was JE equivalent but I'm not sure how it'd work strategically... A NEWSweeeek. Pffft. I'm lame. I know. I'd really like a list of old fic memes too, just for the memories. Ryo/cement block = OTP. I'm joshing.

I've been swept up in the wave of Korean girl bands and pretty much know the names of all the main playaaz (the duos, not so much). LA chA TA is my jam. I know the dance XDDD Trendy and age appropriate. Well done SM.

So I've been working on fics aplenty (23 different ones at last count) and found that I reach a suspending point at around 1700 words. I can understand why, at 1700 words there's a decent introduction and I'm halfway through embarking on the actual story. Pre-plot jitters methinks. After that point it happens again at 3200, just before I get to the good bit and it's all very frustrating because over half of them stuck at these points.

For some of them, I think I'll give up on substance and just stick to style because I just don't think the storylines are worth it. I fear I've watched too many melodramatic dramas and if I begin writing people with complicated relationships, something atrocious will spew out. Something like Ryo's a doctor in love with his patient Shige cannot act on his feelings because he's being blackmailed by Tegoshi with pictures of him and Yamapi naked in a hotel room taken by Massu who's under Tegoshi's spell who does it all for his doting adopted older brother Koyama who works as Yamapi's PA in Yamapi's rich rich company.

How many clichés does that make?

In any case, I should churn out something by the end of the day :D

I was planning to do my 'a day in my life' today but I went through the photos and... my gosh was it boring. Partly because I stayed at home today so there was a very limited number of subjects. Tomorrow I'm going to college so that should be somewhat more interesting. It's only for one lesson but there's a lot of things to see because the journey is so long.

I tried writing fic today but didn't get far as I had an afternoon nap. For some reason, I've had this dialogue in my head for ages. It'd probably sound bittersweet and melancholy if not for the fact that my phonological loop has it being shouted angrily or with gritted teeth.

"Do you think that we're in love yet?"

"Probably not because you don't stick around for breakfast."

I have no idea where it would fit in context. Definitely not the the fic I'm working on atm.

My gosh does it look like Shige knows what he's doing. I really was expecting a famed "Johnny's Kiss", you know, something like Yamapi pressing lips against glass. Even Koyama's HSM kiss pales in comparison. The Seminar kiss does look a bit awkward but I'm willing to put some of the blame on Natsuki because she doesn't really look into it with the exception of her hand on his butt.

1849 / 2500

My progress on the remix thus far. I've been slowly tapping away at it over past few days but I'm determined to get it done completely, maybe capping it off at 1900 because 2500 seems so far away considering I've written everything I've wanted to include. I've downed two cans of coke for the caffeine intake.

In other news, I've gone back to using Firefox. I'd been using Opera for a while now because the last time I had Firefox I made it fugly with too many add-ons and couldn't be bothered to fix it. I've cut down to a few things on the top and bottom now, and was trying to pimp out my LJ Ace Attorney style but my PS skills are limited so I didn't make the magic Trucy header I wanted. Most of her official artwork is a bit boring so I might have to go for a different character (probably Klavier because he always seems to look good and in proportion but his look is always smug and I don't know if I could stand looking at it all the time). For the meantime, I'll have Koyama until I find something.

I was in the mood for Kurosagi today and went around trying to find it because I seem to have deleted the precious ep 2 from my external hard drive. I found it streaming and watched the start around five times (not the recap but the actual start when the Sheryl Crow kicks in until the sugarcubes appear, that bit). Is it bad of me to be impressed? For a Jdrama, it's better than average, cinematography-wise, I think. There's quite a bit of panning and scanning around faces and the bit over the fence and it has a rare smile that's just about genuine looking.

There's just not enough Kurosagi fic. is that enough of a *nudge nudge wink wink*?

Also had a go at cutting back my layers. I don't have time or money to go to a hairdresser's so I did it myself in 20 minutes. I fixed out the unevenness from the pic so the top layer's a bit shorter. It'll probably need fixing again later once I see what it's like after I wash it.

I just. lol at Shige's character in Seminar. He's looking mighty fine though.

No other series of video games has kept me playing for as many hours as Pokemon. I won't lie, I fell out of love with the TV series long before Ash's overnight voice-breaking, but the games are still fun to play, if not utterly frustrating when another hundred or so Pokemon are introduced with them. A couple of days ago, I got an email telling me that there was going to be a Pokemon event with free Pokemon giving. I've always missed out on such opportunities before and since I had a day to spare I went. I wasn't quite sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was exactly the kind of group found in Nintendo ads. That's right. Suitable for all ages. The typical group of teenage guys lurking in the centre, smaller scattered groups of ten-year-olds, lone adults inconspicuously trying not to squeal as they get their 'Mystery Gift' and those of an older persuasion getting store staff to figure it out for them.

It was nice that there were people hanging around after getting their free Shaymin, connecting to make the best poffins with an assortment of berries and trading with each other to complete their Pokedexes. Something I never have, and probably never will, manage.

Anyway, got this free babyyy~

Not entirely sure what to do with it now but it's speshul.

After that I went to China Town looking for the elusive roast beef variation of ramen. Went to five different places and couldn't find it so I got the regular beef version. The roast beef flavour is so much better though. I have to not eat the beef ramen too soon after I have it to give me time to forget how good it tastes because beef pales in comparison.

I both love and hate going to China Town. I love how there's so much stuff but hate how self-conscious going there makes me feel. Too many pretty people with perfectly groomed hair with a cute guy serving in every cake shop. I think that's their marketing strategy.

In terms of Koi no ABO PV, I think it's all been said so I'll keep it short. It can get a big heart stamp from me. The bit when the girls present the bits of clothes, at first I couldn't decide if it was meant as 'you left this at my place last time' or 'look what I found around the house' kind of thing. Either way NEWS are dorks and Koyama looks pretty with bows in his hair. One thing I didn't like were the slide transitions, they were cool the first couple of times but got tiresome quickly. I'm also very much with the consensus on views of Yamapi's hair, for someone who once had such great hair (excusing the brief blond hedgehog thing), it just makes me want to go at it with hedge clippers.

I thought that as people grew up, the need to trick other people would eventually die down and if it needed to be let loose then it'd be only applicable to friends. Apparently, not in the case of one of my teachers. Yesterday, the 31st, he had made an announcement during 2 classes that there were 3 junior positions with an agency for 6 weeks' work during the summer at £17 an hour. It's a very, very appealing job position and the only requirement was to write a cover letter less than a page to be handed in at lunch. Of course it wasn't real and there were a variety of reactions ranging from full-on laughter to solemn disappointment. Unfortunately, I was the latter. If I had done it, the money would have been saved and used for university tuition :( He had been so convincing about it as well, spending 15 minutes explaining it to us, what should be in the letter and the kind of things the job would've entailed. Shame. At least the Pretty Boy was on my bus today. He's very cute and just looking at him seems to cheer me up. We were on the same bus to and from college today. He probably thinks I'm a stalker. Never mind.

I had a lesson cancelled today and so made some significant progress on my remix fic :D

1071 / 2500

I've made it to 1000 words but I'm struggling to find somewhere to take it for another 1000 words. I think I may need to redraft and come up with a plot rather than sticking to the character study-type thing I've been doing. What I've done doesn't seem like such a good idea anymore.

Hello, it's been a while since I've used LJ. Just to report that I'm still alive and working. Twitter has become my dumping place for passing thoughts.

I've started my fic remix, not sure in length but I reckon 2500 words should be a decent enough length. Extra bored today so I made a counter and everything.

526 / 2500

I'm also tidying up my music folder for my iTunes library because my ocd has kicked in and I can't stand to look at it anymore. I have useless duplicates of discographies driving me mad. Grrr.

Mother picked up the HDD enclosure from the post office. No instructions at all but it was a simple enough case of unplug here, plug in there. Even though it's got all my old files, it feels as though some things are missing. Maybe it's the XP feeling. Not that I'm not feeling Vista now that it's not-so-shiny.

I've gotten back all my old photographs. Here are some random but nice ones.

Will post some old fic tomorrow.

Ever since I started receiving EMA, I've left it to stew in my account. It's £30 a week and since I use the bus as transport (and my Oyster card means it's free), the only thing I need to spend money on each day is lunch. Since it's a hassle to withdraw money on a weekly basis for me, my mother gives me change when I need it.
So I haven't touched any of my EMA.

what i waste free money on )
